I conduct small group workshops in Handmade Papermaking, Indigo Dyeing, and various Printmaking techniques from my private studio in scenic rural Conondale (near Maleny), southeast Queensland, a pleasant 11/2 hour drive north of Brisbane.
Numbers are limited to a maximum of 6 participants, so that that everyone gets all the personal attention they may need. Private Tuition and Private Group workshops are also available. There is something for all skill levels.
The workshops are held in the shelter of my Studio Verandah in spring and early summer, and then again from around March onwards, when the weather becomes conducive to working outside under cover.
During November and December 2020 papermaking workshops are being offered.
Papermaking 101 is for entry level level students (or revision), where all the basics for making beautiful recycled paper will be covered.
Papermaking 102 teaches how to add many embellishments to your paper, and assumes the basic skills taught in Papermaking 101.
And Fibre Paper – Hand Papermaking with Natural Plant Fibres is a more advanced workshop again. Here you will learn how to process and turn certain plants into paper pulp, and then make paper. The fibre pulp is provided as there isn’t time for the whole process in a one-day workshops, but you will get full notes so you can try it at home. You’ll get to experiment with embellishments as well.
